英语新词：“豪宅”，“男保姆”怎么说？

豪宅　big hair house
如果眼前突然出现一幢豪宅，你会用什么词语来形容它？奢华、品位、显贵？还是就一个字，大？告诉你吧，英语里对豪宅的称呼就是以“大”开头的，叫big hair house。

A big hair house is a house that has a garish style and that is overly large compared to its lot size and to the surrounding houses.

Big hair house指建筑风格奢华夺目，与所在地段和周边房屋相比规模超大的房子，（即我们常说的“豪宅”）。

Big hair最初指的是一种向外蓬松胀起的发型，尤指长发烫过并喷了发胶以后将其梳理定型为从发根直立并带卷的形状,（也就是流行一时的“爆炸头”）。这种发型曾经一度是富有、权贵或迷人女性的象征。



男保姆 manny

一说到“保姆”，你脑子里出现的是什么形象？温和善良的中年女性？勤快活泼的小姑娘？这种想法有点过时啦。现在很多地方都开始培训男保姆了，据说烧菜、看孩子、搞卫生，样样都不差呢。对了，他们还有个特形象的名字，叫manny

Manny，也就是男保姆，用来指代为人家看小孩挣钱的青年男子。
