The Dow Jones industrial average (.DJI) slipped 42.08 points, or 0.40 percent, to 10,425.08. The Standard & Poor"s 500 Index (.SPX) was off 4.51 points, or 0.41 percent, to 1,097.02. The Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC) fell 13.63 points, or 0.61 percent, to 2,238.06.
