LG Electronics launches new smartphone line powered by NVIDIA Tegra processor

SEOUL, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- The world"s third-largest handset maker LG Electronics on Tuesday announced that it will launch a new series of smartphones which utilize the second generation NVIDIA Tegra mobile processor, Tegra 2, starting in the fourth quarter of 2010.
"LG will integrate Tegra 2 into its smartphones, providing them with unprecedented power, speed and graphics capability,"the company said in a press release.
Tegra 2 refers to NVIDIA"s mobile professor that includes a dual-core CPU, which powers through complex tasks to achieve significant leaps in performance, the company added.
The newly launched model will be part of LG"s Optimus Series, a new line of innovative mobile products.
"LG is committed to making its Optimus Series smart devices the de facto standard in speed and graphics performance," said Ma Chang, Vice President of LG"s Marketing Strategy Team.
"We selected NVIDIA because it is the visual computing leader and has a long history of creating amazing consumer experiences," he added.
LG"s Optimus Series smartphones featuring the NVIDIA Tegra 2 mobile processor is schedule to make its debut in the fourth quarter of the year.
